ADVICE FOR TRAVELLERS The `perfect` traveller must be well- prepared and plan his trip carefully in order not to need a holiday to recover from his holidays! -Get out your suitcases and remove all labels and stickers from your last trip. -Book your ferry-boat / plane tickets in plenty of time and check that you really have made that reservation in the hotel, studio or campsite, so as not to be left standing with your luggage in hand. Also make sure that you know exactly what the price of your holiday includes (meals, bus transfers, etc.) -The servicing of your car is necessary in order to avoid problems during the journey.Essentially check that you have the first-aid kit, red warning - triangle, the jack, the reserve can and ,of course, a tool kit! -If you plan to hire a car or mototrbike make sure you have with you a current driving licence and any other papers necessary (contact your local motoring organization for advice), without these, rental is not impossible but it will cost you a lot more. -What to do with your dog, cat or canary.....There are recognised pets homes, an easy if expensive option. Otherwise persuade a friend to look after your beloved pet. -Do you suffer from travel sickness or allergies? Stock up with plenty of medicines, always taking the advice of your doctor. -Now the first basic steps have been taken and it`s time to take a wider look at the place you are going to stay in and make a few notes about important addresses and phone numbers.....we`re here to help. -If taking credit cards become aquainted with the signs indicating ATM. -Leave a contact address/phone number with a family member in case of emergency. -Your holiday packing list should be strictly adhered to! CREASE - FREE CLOTHES A little advice on how to avoid the iron whilst on holiday: *Unpack your suitcase and hang your clothes in the .....bathroom. Turn on the hot tap and let it run heavily for a few minutes. The steam will smooth out any wrinkles leaving them crease - free. *Go for hard - sided suitcases as there`s more of a chance that your clothes will arrive just as you packed them. *Don`t fold trousers. Put them in the middle of the case leaving the legs hanging out , place shirts and jackets on top then fold the edges overthem. That way you avoid `knee - lines`. THE `i` SYMBOL TO TRUST! ~Tired from the journey, you decide to stop at an unknown place. You have no idea where to find a decent hotel to spend the night or a worthy restaurant in which to sample the local cuisine. Logic and experience will lead you to look for an information kiosk, with the symbol `i`.Beware!! The most reputable kiosk will belong to the municipality, community or local council. TAKING CHILDREN IN THE MUSEUM......!!!!!! Often the only sights that children refuse to see are museums! To avoid turning it into a boring trial, make it into a game for the little ones. Before going around the museum, buy lots of souvenir postcards and let the children ` hunt the treasure`! They have to find all the paintings/ objects on their postcards. Get your children into the spirit of things by asking them to invent stories around each of the exhibits that you see.
