It is from this tradition that the jewellery of Corfu took root and then blossomed. This island, the meeting point of eastern and western cultures, blended the Byzantine tradition and European art, in an original and wonderful way. It created a very unique school under the influences of Constantinopole and Central Europe. |

To this day, remarkable Corfiot artisans, from generation to generation, continue to work in gold and silver in the traditional way. Wishing to protect their art, they created the Association of Jewellers and Watchmakers of Corfu (a member of the Panhellenic Association) in 1936, which carries on this tradition, creating jewellery and silver objects of the highest quality and craftsmanship. |
